Our establishment dates back to 1576. We began as a tea house located on the Wakasa-kaido path, also known as Saba ('mackerel')-kaido, as people carried fresh fish from the Sea of Japan to Kyoto. Our cuisine has been favored by many visitors and celebrities for over 450 years.
We hope that you will enjoy our specialties such as steamed rice and oats with grated yam potato and the Kaiseki course featuring Tile fish prepared with great care and traditional expertise.
